Combat Update?

I've just read the new combat level system, and it seems pretty odd. Basically the new formula will be (Highest combat skill + Defence level + 2), making the highest combat level being 200 (99 + 99 + 2 = 200).

Maxed zerker pure combat level = 99 + 45 + 2 = 146
Maxed 1 def pure combat level = 99 + 1 + 2 = 102
99 Range tank combat level = 99 + 99 + 2 = 200
Maxed account combat level = 99 + 99 + 2 = 200

My combat level = 89 + 77 + 2 = 1 = 168

Pretty much making 99 range tanks have the same combat level as anyone maxed, and I would have higher combat level than any pures, yet most pures would drop me, and most 99 range tanks would get dropped by anyone maxed.

Not sure how this will play out and how defence will change, but the combat levels itself makes me think the combat system will be A LOT different. LMK what you guys think.

ALSO....

Lowest combat level with quest cape will be - 80 (Magic) + 76 (Defence) + 2 = 158

it's gonna be so shit, range tanks paired up with mains is a ridiculous idea, it's what they've been trying in the crucible, and it's a fucking joke, i wanted the crucible so i'm garunteed to rarely lose money as when i pk everyone just tele's, now it's impossible as i get 115+'s every single time, fuck the crucible, fuck the combat update. RIP RUNESCAPE TBH....

The crucible is stupid I'm level 78 (71 without summ). ANd I get paired with a level 87 with 99 range and 99summoning wtf jagex?

This is a great post, although I don't know much about the whole "Pures" and "Zerkers" thing, it seems like Jagex is finally stepping there game up, but can someone please explain to me why everyone says "Pures are now dead" and does this whole combat re-work effect Dragon Claw specs? They've gone down to 9m at one point! Please someone get back to me.
